Overview:
The course consists of a set of lectures and is intended for all those interested in knowledge of international business operations from the ranks of students and the general public, founders of start-ups, beginning entrepreneurs and companies that have decided to enter foreign markets with their products.
The aim of the course is to familiarize course participants with the forms of entry of companies to foreign markets and with the practical implementation of international business operations with goods: possible forms of entry to a foreign market, selection of a foreign market and its analysis, purchase contract and its requirements, payment of the price through a letter of credit, hedging of FX risks in international trade and equity financing for SMEs (equity financing for small and medium-sized enterprises).
Experts from practice will also present their lectures as guests at the course.
Format:
A two week online course in MS Teams (14.11. – 28.11. 2023) on Tuesdays 14th, 21st and 28th of November.
Methodology:
Online lectures and seminars including the usage of online presentations and discussions.
Learning outcomes and competencies:
The aim of the course is to make the participants familiar with the possible ways of entry of companies to foreign markets and with the practical implementation of international trade operations with goods, both within EU and outside the EU countries. At the same time, course the participants will gain an overview of the necessary steps and services related to international business – international transport, insurance, inspection, etc.
At the same time, the participants will learn about hedging of FX risks and practical use of Letter of Credit and Bank Guarantees in international trade. They will also receive information about equity financing for SMEs through the START market in the Prague Stock Exchange.
Course completion:
To complete the course successfully, active participation is required at all lectures. Each session can be attended also independently in case of participant´s interests in a specific topic.
